Just picked one up in Norwalk CT - they had plenty in stock and the sales person didn't realize the markdown until I mentioned it. Great deal. They tried to sell me a ton of services, but you don't have to... $317 out the door.:)

The fact that congress cannot construct a budget is simply a failure of them to perform their duties. Part of the reason is that the motivation to avoid a shutdown isn't great enough, thus I propose a two-fold solution to motivate them a little
1) Congress persons do not get paid during the shutdown. Perhaps if they were to not get paid they would be more motivated.
2) In the event of a shutdown all members of congress immediately become ineligible to run for re-election for their current position and ineligible to run in any other federal election. Since a shutdown means they've failed, they shouldn't be allowed to continue.

So the only model they're going to sell is the Elite Slim one once the supplies on the current Arcade and Pro are out?
It's not call an elite or a slim. It is just called Xbox 360 and then the Hard Drive size. My friend at gamestop said there should be a different model (either with a smaller hard drive or no hard drive) coming before the end of summer, due to their current xbox 360 arcade inventory.
Also, Engadget (http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/18/new-xbox-360-gets-a-proper-teardown-analysis-power-and-noise-re/) has a breakdown of the insides of the system. The system is quieter and uses less power.

How can something like this be for "some phones?" Doesn't make much sense to me--seems more likely to be a problem with the carrier--mine did fine figuring out it was now daylight savings time. :confused:
Is it possible that 4.2.6 and 4.3 have different DST settings? Sure. Unlikely? You bet. Odds are we're seeing an issue with carriers and it localized in spots.

I got in line at Knox at roughly 5am. At 7:30 an apple employee came out to hand out tickets. He got 15 people down the line and then said he was out. I was about 20-30th in line. Sounds like we all got fed a line of BS when we were told they held all shipments from this week for Sat. morning.

I ordered Pages as soon as it was announced, and it immediately replaced Word as my primary word processing program.
I'm not sure what many other posters are thinking, because Word is FAR from the best application on my mac, it's closer to the worst. It tends to crash on my when saving, or pasting, or moving text (and it's not my install, three different computers all do the same thing).
Now for Pages, yes it was a little hard to get used to. I was constantly looking for a quick way of changing font styles and sizes, same thing with margins and headers and footers. But then I realised that I was ALWAYS making the same couple of changes. So I set up a blank document with the margins and tracking / numbering settings that I commonly use. Then made 4 new text styles and saved the document as a template.
Now I'm using a template that has all of my settings and favorite fonts / sizes / spacing easily accessible through one click on a style button. And since I did that, I havn't gone looking for a setting (other than for some image manip). Basically, what I'm trying to get at is this; if you found Pages UI to be hard to work with, just create some new paragraph styles and a document template for margins / global settings.
As far as bloat goes..... yes Pages does tend to slow down when there are lots of images hanging around, BUT I can't say that the slowdown is any worse than opening the same document in Word.
Overall it was a worthwhile purchase, but I'm still looking forward to future upgrades

A state may have cut taxes and their economy might not have improved since cutting taxes, but the author of the article needs to fill in the gap and explain why there is a correlation/causation. I propose that you could run a state with some income tax or no income tax if the budget was made competently. Like i said above, without the RATM thing, only a few thousand people would have bought Joe's single and practically no-one would have bought RATM. Having some competition, inspired people to buy the song they liked. More people bought Joe's and RATM's music than if there would be no 'rebellious campaign'. More money in a industry makes it a lot healthier. Especially for Sony.

I did some tests and it was definately true for me. I'm sure it's not true for everyone, but it's worth testing instead of blindly just changing.

I know ATT drops more calls than Verizon but everyone thats tested both data plans (even professional reviewers like Walt Mossberg from AllthingsD) say that the ATT data plan is superior in every single way.
No one bitches about the ATT data plan, they just hate the dropped calls on every single call they make and I understand that people are angry about that.
But the iPad is not a phone and I'm certain most people buy Verizon iPads thinking that its better just because there are problems with ATT iPhone.
In the end you get half the 3G speed on Verizon and also won't be able to use the network in most parts of the world.
I wouldn't trade ATT for Verizon in terms of iPads.
I bitch about it. I get decent speeds at work but crap speeds sitting on my couch at home. I work 3/4 mile away from my home. My house is wood frame/brick. AT&T speeds and signal are inconsistent. This is obviously an opinion held by most of the public.
To be honest, I didn't want a Verizon iPad unless it was LTE. This made me not want an AT&T iPad either. Then I finally realized I didn't want any modem in my iPad, I'd rather get the WiFi and tether....so this is what I did.

Just wondering how Japan perceives Apple as a company - if anyone knows. I know they don't like Microsoft (as in Xbox). I can't imagine they sell many Apple computers over there. Ipods a different story?
Last I remember, Japan and Korea tend to show loyalty to Japanese companies, hence Sony playstation doing well in Japan. I also remember reading that iPod is #3 in like Japan, a #4 in Korea or something.

I'm enjoying this feature, I'm one of the people who are picky about who I add. I know everyone on my list, the only thing is the people who I don't see are high school friends who go to other colleges that I keep in touch with.
Since my college crew always goes on food runs, we only tag places where we are eating or if we are at the campus. That way people can get pissed if they missed the food run and can come join us.
