Why can't they just make a JACK connector, with 4 wires ... Wake me up when it will be possible to supply data at high speed and enough power through 4 cables with a jack connector.

OS X isn't much of a FreeBSD brethren, maybe user land but not much else.
I wish Apple would just build Mac OS X on top of FreeBSD kernel instead of the Mach/XNU frankenstein.
There are some real nice features in FreeBSD that would require a kernel re-write in Darwin. I'd love to have Jails, ZFS, capsicum, pf, and other tech available with aqua.
If thats out of the question at least port their server end software to FreeBSD. Final Cut Server, Xgrid, Xsan, Open Directory etc... wont see much use with out the Xserve.
Seeing as OS X is a FreeBSD brethren it's not hard to realize that while XServe is decommissioned that they are still designing, developing and testing future Server Hardware and the Data Center is a great testing ground amidst a huge swath of 3rd party hardware inside there.

I am not saying CR has no understanding of technology, however, Their fourth choice was Centrum.
They have gone back and forth over the years on how to test electronics. So many things are subjective, including picture quality, audio quality, gui usage quality....and they generally try to use "regular" people as the point. So they rate pretty much all HDTVs as having high points for video quality, even though there are clearly standouts to videophiles. And don't even get me started on speakers.
You really can't use CR as anything more than a single data point. You must find other data points to do research. But that doesn't mean CR is worthless, just shouldn't be your only tool.

Or how about the lack of pictures? This had photo op written all over it, but we the taxpayer only get one picture? I think the number of pictures were limited due to Steve Jobs current condition.

While I obviously think this prediction is just a load of crap, I would NOT mind a larger screen on the iPhone. Not too big to comfortably carry in a pocket or hold up to my ear. A 4.5" would be nice, I think. Definitely not a nano-sized phone.

The only thing that will make me replace my current MBA is if the new model has a backlit keyboard. I greatly miss this feature.

We just need a new chip - g5, power4, what ever. We need a chip that can go head to head against the Wintel world and not rely on 2 processors to try and keep up (and even now, this isn't working)
Its very frustrating and I hope Apple will all make us happy sometime soon.

it depends.
ATT voice is generally 1900.
HSDPA was mostly 1900 but 850 is also being utilized after the shutdown of the analog network...
and no, it wouldn't be any faster or slower due to the frequency in itself.

Great, now they will seal up all the doors and windows at Foxconn and cavity search the employees when the are allowed out. And some employees will just mysteriously disappear.

The current dock connector already supports displayport on the iPhone 4, iPad 1/2 and iPod Touch 4th generation. It's how the VGA and HDMI adaptors work.

It's temporary just to avoid the shutdown. A government shutdown so that Tea Partiers can push their conservative social agenda wouldn't go over too well.

I am new here to the forum and was wondering if anyone could advise why only some of my contacts have matched accross?
Is it due to the fact that some of my numbers start +44 in my phonebook and they may start 07.... in facebook??
not sure what credentials it uses to compare and match the different phonebooks i.e name, number ect.
