Frankly i think the Bluetooth version should have been relased August 2005. Bout time though and i hope it comes in white/black/aluminium (silver plastic?) variations.

This update was unfortunately a horrible bust for me. Autoimporter is not working properly for my iPhone. Safari is crashing on pages where it wasn't before. IDK, maybe it'll work itself out........

Don't discount microsoft - they have money to lose for years in trying to get #1 for MP3 - slowly they creep up and overturn Apple - apple doesn't ahve the same stamina.
A long term commitment, not a short term thing.
$9,500,000,000 - that's just sitting around in cash with no long term debt. I think Apple's got plenty of "stamina"...

But I find these news a bit odd. Or rather... This decision. That date would put it so close to the iPhone 5 that I wonder how much it'll be worth the effort. But maybe the iPhone 5 cases will be so similar that most of the manufacturing process will simply be reused in that revision. In that case, Apple can just as well introduce it for the iPhone 4. :)

well there you have it apple: in this day and age sueing somebody over patents who has more than you might not always be the smartest idea
fact is: between those big cooperations it has become usual practice to let a certain amount of patent abuse slide since it profits all sides if technology can be used by more, and it also helps adoptions rates (famous example: IBM and their countless PC hardware related patents)

I don't buy from either of these any more after being introduced to Gomusicnow.com (or any of the other 25 similar sites). 9 cents per song, or ~$.80-$1.5 per ALBUM. Quality 320 for most newer albums and 220-300 for older. Can't beat it.

Do we know how connected the Mac App Store and the iOS App Store are? Maybe they are toying with adding requirements to the Mac App Store and they accidentally also changed the iOS one too? All we have as far as requirements in the Mac App Store at the moment is OS version and they're all pretty much the same since there are only a couple OS revisions that can even run the Mac App Store. This is mostly problematic with games due to the fact that some computers can run 10.6.6 but not the more intensive 3D games.

It's about time. But I've had a wireless mouse/keyboard set when I got my iMac G5 Rev. A back in the day, and I quickly got rid of it. I was sick and tired of changing the damn batteries every few weeks. I never mouse or type away from my desk, so I had no use for it, and I'd rather have the ugly wires than deal with the annoyance of buying/changing batteries often. Now, if they were rechargeable (in a dock, I don't want to have to take them out and put them in a seperate charger), I could see using them.

I want to be able to move several events to another day or time, and since there's no "shift event times" feature, I want to at least be able to cut and paste them and remain in their original calendar! This happens every time there is a change in a day's schedule where several events have to happen sequentially.

Parallels takes way too long to launch, and the GUI sucks.
Mine pops up instantly. 2.0 GHz Macbook. What's wrong with the GUI? Is it just that it's not Cocoa, the holy grail, or is there something tangible that isn't good? I've found it easy to use and unobtrusive.
Plus, do you really think a Qt C++ wrapper around Carbon is faster than direct Cocoa calls? :rolleyes:
Wouldn't surprise me a bit if it were. Many of the things that make Cocoa such a joy for programmers also slow it down at runtime. That's just a design decision that Apple made, and with faster computers always coming out, it becomes less of a drawback at runtime.
I just want a nice documented-based Cocoa app that behaves like a Mac app, with a fast virtualization at its core :)

The whole thing that drew my attention to your original post was that comment about Cocoa. Why do you, as an end-user, care about that? Cocoa is great, but there seems to be a mentality here that anything else is inferior or a second-class citizen. I kind of understand why that mentality came to be - Cocoa came with OS X, Carbon is a bridge to the past in OS 9. Thus people automatically assumed that Cocoa = good and Carbon = bad. But Carbon is every bit as capable as Cocoa, and thus why an end-user would care one bit about either is beyond me.
Granted, Parallels is done with Qt, which looks a little bit "off" sitting next to a Carbon or Cocoa app, but does that really matter? It looks damn close, and frankly, looks mean nothing to me if the interface works intuitively. And that it does.

Apple can't keep up with iPad production, you think they are going to be able to properly build and sell (in volume) a TV? Dream on. Apple doesn't have the infrastructure to not only sell something like this, but service it as well.
